Doing what you always wanted to do
Do you have friends that are scared to death to attempt things they’ve always dreamed about doing with their lives and never did? Yesterday some women in our family decided to meet for dinner in a restaurant for no specific reason our ages were from 27 to me the oldest 62 and the selected restaurant was the Melting Pot in a mall we had our own room as there were 7 of us.
Most of us had never been to a restaurant who served appetizers to desserts with fondue…

I stopped for him, he loomed into me
I asked him to ensure my forgiveness
He brutally slaughtered me
Frequent as always my hurt offered him glee
He dug in slowly, with force to follow
I stared at him for pardon
He made sure it was wholly a hollow
Feelings never mutual his were shallow
The gush flowed out vivaciously warm
His determination made me haughty
'Relax my dear, I mean no harm'
The aura all around lost its calm
I believed in him like I did for ever and a day
He gazed into my eyes sear…

Is a Blog a digital blackboard? Recently a member of the Online Think Tank stated this in a sentence explaining the use of Blogs in society and on the internet. But is his comment a legitimate one? After all no one can say that a digital blackboard is a blog?…

I have discovered lately that the best things about being off from work at a real job include:
Not having to go to bed when you're not sleepy, which suits a night owl just fine.
Not having to get up early, which of course, also suits a night owl just fine.
Not having to shower until you want to during the day. No one cares (mainly me) if you (I) work on the computer without a shower and with mussed hair and a day-or-two old beard (other than whoever you live with and they'll probably put…

Well, we've just finished another presidential election here in America. Now it's just time to wait and see what happens next. Many are happy with the results; many are...well, let's just say not happy. But one can't deny the historical aspects of the election. We all know what i'm referring too. Yes, the first Hawaiian born president in U.S. history, of course that's what i'm referring to. A few folks, i've heard, thought maybe this was Ralph Nader's year. I think they were all at his house ele…

Well, it's almost that time of the year again. The time that comes with joy, happiness and nostalgia that you normally only feel when a family shares the event together. Yeah, Christmas too, but i mean time we get to indulge in enormous portions of that now classic movie,
A Christmas Story.
The movie, which features the unforgettable little Ritchie and the rest of the Parker family, first ran in 1983, making this year the 25th anniversary of the movie many of us grew up with. My generati…

And by hefty, I mean portly, chubby, .......FAT!
I mostly mean me. I am hefty. I have never been a small child, not by any means. When I turned 11, I gained weight. A LOT of weight. From then on, it was a battle of the bulge for the rest of my freaking life! Any kind of holiday, celebration, or important event revolved around food. My family and I would stuff ourselves silly with good southern foods. Sweet potatoes, hams, fried chicken, creamed corn, dinner rolls..... you name it. Later, I r…

I don't know when it happened or what event transpired bring us to where we are today. It may be that we were blind or unwilling to believe that such things could happen in our Country, that it could only happen somewhere else. We would never allow such things to happen in Canada, because we are civilized, tolerant, and just. Yet it is happening, right here, right now, in the true north strong and free. I think perhaps it has been a long time that most people have said those words, or perhaps do…

I know that you're not going to believe what I'm about to tell you, but I created yet another blog!
Now I know what you're going to say -
YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND!
Well, yes - out of my creative mind, but not out of my logical mind.
You see,…

What a horrible thing to have to say. It doesn't matter how hard you try to teach right from wrong, some children have to learn the hard way. About 3 weeks ago the police show up at our door looking for our 15 yr old son. Apparently he has been seen with an ipod that was stolen from his school. As things turn out he did take the item from the library (he says) and brought it to a friends house. To make a long story short he was charged with possession of stolen property. Since then twice has tri…

I admit, I am an idiot when it comes to understanding the ins and outs of economics. After all, I am not an economist, nor have I had any formal schooling on the subject. This is probably true for a lot of Canadians. When we see in the headlines that Ontario is now a "have-not" province we are not sure what that really means. Yes, we know we don't have a lot of money, we know that we don't have a lot of new jobs, and we know that nothing is going to change any time soon. So, what is the differen…

Day in and Day out.
The longer the days ,
the faster the thoughts run,
running so fast as time,
never stopping for nothing
Have you ever thought!
what made your run and toil!
run after the day and time
which never waits for you.
Never thinking ,if you reached
Never looking back over shoulder,
to make sure you are not missing.
The loss happens with time,
never thinking the status,
never thinking about who,
where how and what and when?
loss and absence does happen,
which makes every one equal.…

Love, something so elusive yet so abundant. We see it all around us everyday, in so many different forms and expressions. Animals love, or is it compassion? Is there a difference? Or is compassion a part of love? Can you have compassion without love? We can witness a killer whale nurse it's young, or a Lioness feeding her cubs and protecting them. Is that love, or compassion? Does it matter? Is maternal instinct a product of love? Can one have a maternal extinct but not feel love, or compassion?…

I wonder if the presidential candidates would have mentioned that man so much during the debate if he wasn't Joe the plumber, but was Randy the prostate examiner. If nothing else, they definitely would have avoided statements like "I was touched by Randy" and "I want to help Randy reach for success".

I have a very strong LOVE and hate relationship with the season of fall. I love the meaning of fall, it's my favorite time of year, but I know that it leads to winter—which is too long for me in the state of Michigan. I wish we could go from spring, to summer, into fall, a few days o…

So now I have to add: do not wear heels until after the election to my list. Sarah the P is putting on the heels and taking off the gloves.
I gave up winking because of the VP debate . I think it was around 10:08 PM that I winked for the last time. Actually, Walter thought I was losing all hope as well as the ability to breath on my own, so he asked for me to to wink once if I knew, beyond any reasonable doubt, that Michelle Obama would be our next First lady.
What else will I have to give up…
