I too started off with Blogger, then graduated to Wordpress self hosting but I am this close (fingers really close right now) to pootling off to MT4. This close.

In terms of blogging, I don't think it really matters that much which service you use. Wordpress is popular because it can be as simple as Blogger if you want, or you can add all these plug-ins and make it super-complicated. I use Wordpress and have no complaints. If you use certain hosts, like dreamhost, they have this one-click installation for wordpress that really makes it a breeze.

I agree with Neil. I'm not sure it matters.

I'm with Typepad. But I keep it really really simple.
Blogger used to drive me around the bend. (I think I lasted a week with them.)

I'm all about Typepad. Thought about Wordpress at times, but cannot commit to changing and I've used Blogger but could never go to it full time after having played with Typepad. Oh yeah, I had a blog on Vox for a few months, too. Not bad. Cutesy and fun, but no real substance to it.

Wordpress, all the way. I love the extensibility of the platform.

I love WP! I've used it with several blogs and most recently my work blog went from Typepad to WP and I am very happy/comfortable with the interface.

I use WordPress. I have it installed on my website. I like the format, the ease of use and flexibity. I've never had a problem with the installed version.

I'm using Blogger. It's where I started and it's free which fits into my budget.

WordPress for me. It's a great CMS, there are loads and loads of free and wonderful themes to choose from, and the plugins can be useful as well. I'm a programmer and PHP fiend too, so I'm free to tinker around with the inner workings of it. If I use blogger, I don't have that kind of access.

I mean, to me, when choosing a blog interface it comes down to:

- Can I easily customize the look?
- How quick and easy is it to make a post?
- Can I add my own code?
- Is it Ad/Banner free?

I admit, WP can cause some headaches, but I'm pretty used to handling code, so to me it's not that big of a deal.

Haven't used/heard of TypePad before. What would be the main advantages of using that over WP?

I think it depends on if you're paying for it and what you want to do with your blog.

I use Wordpress and I could never go back to a platform that didn't let me post date posts. But I write three posts at a time sometimes so that a new one posts every single day.

I also like the comment features in Wordpress, but I'm pretty active in my comment section and encourage people to come back more than once a day.

I also have ads, etc. on my wordpress - have never had a problem with that - but that's on my own server.

I use Blogspot. So far I haven't had any glitches but I'm looking for a three column template and don't have a clue where to begin looking. I've seem some that are very good. Unfortunately they're also vey expensive. Any ideas how to get a free one ?
